I’m stressed out of my mind.  Been working my ass off lately.. can’t even find time to BLOG ANYMORE DAMNIT!! >.<  And I had all high hopes in keeping this blog active.. psh yeah right lol.

So here’s my start to a small rant!

JOB VS. CAREER!!

What’s the difference?  HUGE DIFFERENCE..

And what sucks is that everybody and their mom’s cats & dogs all have a Bachelor’s degree now. And what’s even more bizarre is how everybody and their mom’s have a Master’s or PhD.. -_-   And even people who have BA degrees can’t get a decent paying job. And no, I don’t mean the ones that pay you $9-$14 an hour.. I mean careers that you can maintain a secure financial income. A career that can give someone a home and not just renting a place to live in. It’s hit me lately that when I grad, I wouldn’t want to settle for JUST A JOB. I want a CAREER. There’s a big difference between those two.  When I think about career, it’s more a lifestyle of what I WANT to do for the rest of my life. It’s how I’m going to work and balance out relationships, family time, friends, & etc. What kind of career would suit me if I had kids? I’d need it to be FLEXIBLE along with decent pay & benefits. And most importantly, something that I enjoy & am passionate about.  A job is more or less defined as something more temporary and just to have as a means of survival.  So I encourage myself everyday to work hard towards something that I’m passionate about, otherwise I’ll probably look back and regret it for the rest of my life.

I’m still pretty confused though.. it sucks to be confused in general, especially future career decisions. -_- Some people have it so easy where their life is just set. They get the diplomas, degrees, & what not.. then work for their parent’s company. Or if they come from a social background with awesome networking, then they’d have an easier time finding a career. It’s so discouraging sometimes to not know what to do in life.  But then again, for people who have it soooo easy, a majority of things were probably hand fed to them, and they probably won’t know how to appreciate what they have compared to those who worked really hard for it.

Well, I’m done sulking and ranting, so back to studying my brains out. =)

It’s funny, I usually don’t like eating rice very much… after growing up for 23 years, eating rice almost every day of your life… it gets really old.  The only thing that makes rice worth eating is what you eat with it.  And the brand of rice can make such a huge difference.  The texture of some rice are just so blah.  Japanese rice seem to be more mushy sometimes, but I kind of like that lol..  And then Korean rice are more chewy^^ Chinese rice is alright, but I’ve had too much of it that I’m pretty sick of it.  I think Chinese rice is really only good for stir frying LOL -.-  Yeah enough ranting on about rice.

Savvy’s birthday is coming up this weekend, I’m still blowing up my mind trying to think of what to get her… hmm /nudge.  Give me some ideas!!

Not to mention, this week is going to be HELLA hectic.. Dad’s coming back for a week, exams coming up, lots of homework piling up, lots of shopping to do for people’s bdays, probably some Christmas shopping before mallrats turn me into roadkill in December, and then my boyfriend coming to visit me.  It’s the time of the semester when everyone is pretty much burning out, stressing out, just ready to eff school & studying.  Yeah.. that pretty much sums it up.

So the other day, a friend recommended me to check out this book on the concept of “love languages”. In a nutshell, everyone apparently “speaks” a specific love language, so if you feel like you’re always giving in the relationship but your partner isn’t feeling it, you are probably not speaking your partner’s love language. You have to find out what it is that makes your partner feel most loved, and provide that for them; likewise, you need to let your partner know what your own love language is, so you will feel satisfied and loved. As always, life has been pretty hectic with school. I feel like whenever September hits…it’s just a nonstop blur of holidays, gatherings, events, activities.. ESPECIALLY Nov/Dec/Jan. It’s like people are jacked up on the energy that they never got to fully release during the summer, and they have to get it all out of their system before the year is over. There’s no time to just stop and BREATHE. Sometimes, time passes by so fast, I don’t even notice it. It’s really…scary. Like, what? That was a year ago? I could’ve sworn that just happened yesterday. Hopefully, every year gets better than the last, cause if it doesn’t… what are we living for? Ok, I’ll stop with the deep questions. But personally, yeah, I think this year has been way better than the last. Or at least, there’s been way more change in this one year than any other year combined. And if you don’t agree, maybe Mr. Obama hasn’t been doing his job very well. lol, kidding.

Such awesome news for the U.S.  Just a couple things that stood out to me:

No fancy costumes or anything, oh wells. The pizza, alcohol, and candy made us 3 happy girls on the Halloween night. And daylight savings this year was perfect since it was right after Halloween.. one more hour to party & one more hour to sleep in. I still can’t believe October is already over. Where the hell does the time go nowadays? Not to mention, I’m so sick of the weather here already.. gloomy, windy, chilly, ugh I hate it. Three blocks of walking in downtown in this kind of weather makes my head throb and gives my body the chills. Plus the whole paranoia of the H1N1 flu symptom is scaring the hell out of me; in fact, I just got the H1N1 flu shot today and my whole left arm feels sore. “v.v” And as I was in the doctor’s office waiting for my turn, these people were sneezing and coughing into their hands then picking up magazines and reading them or touching the chairs and what not. I really wonder if they’re just so ignorant that they ignore the ads and health care alerts to SNEEZE AND COUGH ON YOUR ARM if you don’t have a tissue in your hand of some sort to cover it. And you’d see everyone just constantly touching their eyes or rubbing their nose… Oh well, who am I to talk? I get sick even after I wash my hands so frequently, and do all the safety precautions to avoid the flu. Hell, I’m even taking supplements now because it takes me forever to get better when I get sick. It’s amazing for me to see people with halloween pics dressing with barely any clothes on walking outside on the streets. /applaud Even my instructor had to cancel our last week’s class because she was ill, and apparently she NEVER gets sick but the flu she caught hit her within 3 hours and she was vomiting, fevering and having diarrhea. It’s like the media sets up this moral panic and I’m sure I’m not the only one paranoid about getting sick. After hearing on the news about that healthy boy who was on the hockey team being killed by the H1N1 flu within 24 hours since they thought it was just regular flu symptoms, really makes me extra paranoid and I feel like I have germophobia or something. >.>

I never look back and regret the time and money I’ve spent doing these activities.  It was something I enjoyed, and somehow it brought out the best in me.  Well, ok.. maybe not the games, but the people who played with me.  Not to sound egotistical, but I think even if it’s just a game, I got a feeling of accomplishment and self-satisfaction out of it.  Took a lot of my own time and effort to find out how to play the game, trial & error, research, and found my own play-style.  Took me years to semi-perfect my NE alliance druid, and then half a year or so to be happy with my BE horde priest.^^It just felt so awesome to work my way up from noob to a semi-elitist lol.   Yeah, no one likes to admit it, but when you play with pugs and you can pick out the ones who suck, that already qualifies you as being one of them, imo anyways.  

I’m not sure if many of you know, but my World of Warcraft account has officially expired as of: October 26th 11:17am.  I miss it, and I’ve tried to log on many times to do things on it, but I just couldn’t bring myself into it again.  Probably because most of my friends already quit, and I think it’s just that time where we move onto our next crazy addiction in life.. I wonder what’s next?  I’ve been really getting back into blogging, photoshop, and self-learning some javascript stuff.  Oh and I’m not going to lie, I’m looking forward to Diablo 3 lol, but that won’t be for a while. 

So yeah, here’s a tribute of a big part of my life (pictures included).  I couldn’t fit the rest of the other games on my small desk but these were the ones I’ve spent most of my time playing.  Thanks to all those who shared this experience w/ me.. I’m sure you all know who you are hehe. ^_______^v  And thank GODDDDDDDD that I’m not the same person who I was 4-5 years back, heh.

I’ve come to the conclusion that friends of the opposite sex are a very necessary part of life. I mean, obviously, there are those that really just don’t have any (and by that I mean, solid caring friends that you talk to on a daily or even weekly basis) and still carry on swimmingly but everybody eventually comes to realize that without friends of the opposite sex, you’d be missing out on a lot of valuable insight. And YES, I believe guys and girls can JUST BE FRIENDS. It’s such a shock sometimes to find out how differently guys & girls look at things, and what we decide is important to us. Never assume that you know what another person is thinking because people are constantly changing…changing their minds, changing themselves. Don’t carry expectations for anybody but yourself – and even then, only if you know you can handle the immense high that you get when you succeed, or the tragic disappointment when you’re way off the mark.
